Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Ilmigo (ilmigo.com.pk), an online marketplace where students, teachers and bookstores across Pakistan buy and sell books, notes and past papers. By creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Ilmigo.

1. Who can use Ilmigo

You must be able to form a binding contract to use Ilmigo. If you are under 18, you may use Ilmigo only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf. You must give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, so keep your password private.

2. What Ilmigo is — and what it is not

Ilmigo is an intermediary marketplace. Sellers list their own items; buyers order through us. For every order, Ilmigo is the merchant of record — we collect the payment, hold it in escrow, arrange delivery through our courier partner, and pay the seller after the buyer confirms receipt.

Ilmigo does not own, inspect or warehouse most items before dispatch. We are not the author, publisher or manufacturer of the material listed. Buyers and sellers do not deal with each other directly — all order communication goes through Ilmigo.

3. Buying on Ilmigo

• Prices are set by sellers and shown in Pakistani Rupees (PKR). Delivery charges depend on weight and distance and are shown before you confirm.
• Placing an order is an offer to buy. The order is accepted once Ilmigo confirms it; we may decline or cancel any order — for example if an item is out of stock, mispriced, or the listing breaches these terms.
• Please inspect your order on arrival and before confirming receipt. Confirming releases the seller's payment out of escrow.
• Problems with an order are handled under our Returns & Issue Resolution policy. We do not accept change-of-mind returns.

4. Payments

Ilmigo currently accepts Cash on Delivery, with debit and credit card payment being introduced. A payment service fee applies — 6% on Cash on Delivery and 2.99% on card payments. The exact amount is always shown at checkout before you confirm.

When online payments are enabled, they are processed by licensed third-party payment providers. Ilmigo never sees or stores your full card details, wallet PIN, OTP or banking credentials — those go directly to the payment provider. Ilmigo staff will never ask you for your PIN, OTP or password. Treat any such request as fraud and report it to us.

5. Selling on Ilmigo

Listing is free. Ilmigo charges a 7% commission on the value of each completed sale; the seller keeps 93%. As a seller you agree to:

• Describe items honestly — correct edition, condition, and clear photos of the actual item;
• Only list items you own and have the right to sell;
• Keep your order pickup address accurate, since our courier collects from it. Changing it requires Ilmigo's re-verification, and publishing new listings is paused while that review is in progress;
• Pack items properly and hand them over promptly when an order is placed;
• Complete identity verification (including CNIC) before your listings go live.

6. Items and conduct that are not allowed

You may not list, sell or upload:

• Pirated, photocopied or illegally reproduced books or material, or anything that infringes someone else's copyright;
• Leaked or stolen examination papers, or any material obtained in breach of an institution's rules;
• Counterfeit goods, or items you do not actually have;
• Anything unlawful in Pakistan, or content that is hateful, obscene, or incites harm.

You also may not misuse the platform — no fake accounts or reviews, no attempts to move a transaction off Ilmigo to avoid fees or escrow, no scraping, and no interfering with the security of the site.

7. Escrow, payouts and withdrawals

Buyer payments are held by Ilmigo until the order is confirmed as received. The seller's share is then released into their Ilmigo wallet, from which they can request a withdrawal to their bank account or mobile wallet. We may hold or reverse a release while a dispute, suspected fraud, or a courier issue is being investigated.

8. Verification and suspension

We verify sellers before their listings go live and may re-verify at any time. We may remove a listing, pause selling, withhold a payout, or suspend or close an account if we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, if there are repeated genuine complaints, or if activity appears fraudulent. Where we can, we will tell you why.

9. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos and descriptions you upload. By posting them you give Ilmigo a non-exclusive licence to display and promote that content in connection with the marketplace. You confirm you have the right to share whatever you upload.

10. Availability and liability

We work to keep Ilmigo running reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and delivery times are estimates rather than promises. To the extent permitted by law, Ilmigo's liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Ilmigo grows — for example when online payments launch. The "last updated" date above will change, and continuing to use Ilmigo after an update means you accept the revised terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts at Karachi have jurisdiction over any dispute.

Privacy Policy

Ilmigo ("Ilmigo", "we", "us") runs an online marketplace that connects students, teachers and bookstores across Pakistan to buy and sell books, notes and past papers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who uses Ilmigo — buyers (customers), sellers, teachers and stores alike. By creating an account or using Ilmigo, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account details — your name or store name, email address, phone number, city, and password.
• Seller verification — your CNIC number and related details, which sellers submit so we can verify identity and keep the marketplace trustworthy.
• Listings — the photos, titles, descriptions, prices, condition, subject/level and category of items you list.
• Orders & delivery — your delivery address, order contents, and the details needed to complete delivery.
• Payment information — card payments are processed by a licensed third-party payment provider. Your card number, CVV, OTP and banking credentials are entered on the provider's own secure page and go directly to them — Ilmigo never sees or stores them, and our staff will never ask you for them. We keep only a payment reference, the amount, the method used and whether it succeeded, so we can match the payment to your order and handle refunds. For Cash on Delivery, we record the amount to be collected by the courier.
• Refunds & payment disputes — if a refund or a disputed payment has to be investigated, we share the order details and payment reference with the payment provider or your bank as needed to resolve it.
• Support messages — the emails and WhatsApp messages you send us and their contents.
• Device & usage data — basic technical information and data stored locally in your browser (for example, your cart and preferences).

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and verify sellers.
• To publish your listings and operate the marketplace.
• To process orders, hold funds in escrow, and arrange pickup and delivery.
• To calculate seller earnings, fees and payouts.
• To send order updates and important service notices, and to provide customer support.
• To prevent fraud, enforce our policies, and comply with legal obligations.

3. How our escrow works with your data

When you place an order, your payment is held by Ilmigo in escrow and is only released to the seller after you confirm you've received your item (or after the buyer-protection window passes). To do this, we process the order, delivery and payment details described above.

4. How we share information

Ilmigo acts as a broker between buyers and sellers, and we only share what is necessary:

• With our courier partner (TCS) — the consignee name, phone, delivery address and city, and the Cash-on-Delivery amount to collect, so your order can be delivered.
• With sellers — the order details a seller needs to prepare and hand over your item. Buyers and sellers do not contact each other directly through Ilmigo.
• With payment providers — the information needed to process a payment or payout.
• With service providers that host and run our platform, under confidentiality obligations.
• For legal reasons — where required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Cookies & local storage

Ilmigo uses your browser's local storage to remember things like your login session, cart and preferences. You can clear these anytime in your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, meet legal and accounting requirements, and prevent fraud. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

7. Security

We use appropriate measures to protect your data, including access controls and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information.

8. Your choices and rights

• View and update most of your information from your account settings.
• Request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account.

9. Students and age

Ilmigo is built for students. If you are under 18, please use Ilmigo with the involvement of a parent or guardian and provide information only with their consent. If you believe a minor has provided information without consent, contact us and we will address it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the new version here with a revised "last updated" date, and communicate significant changes where appropriate.

Returns & Issue Resolution

Ilmigo sits in the middle of every order, and your payment is protected by our escrow system. We don't offer open, "change-of-mind" returns — but if there's a genuine problem with your order, you contact us and we take it up with the seller on your behalf to put it right, arranging a return or refund where it's warranted.

1. How your payment is protected

When you order, Ilmigo holds your payment in escrow and only releases it to the seller after you confirm you've received your item. Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives and before confirming. If something is wrong, do not confirm receipt — contact us first, so we can step in while your money is still held.

2. We don't take open returns

Most items on Ilmigo are used study materials, so we don't accept returns simply for a change of mind, or for normal wear that matches the listed condition. Please read the listing — condition, edition and photos — carefully before you order.

3. If there's a genuine problem, tell us

Reach out within 48 hours of delivery and before confirming receipt if your item is:

• Not as described (wrong edition, condition much worse than listed, or missing pages/content);
• Damaged or defective;
• The wrong item;
• Counterfeit or pirated material; or
• Not delivered.

4. How to reach us

• Your Order ID (or the Listing ID of the item);
• A short description of the problem; and
• Clear photos of the item and packaging.

5. How we resolve it

You don't deal with the seller yourself — we do. Using the listing, our team contacts the seller directly, reviews your evidence, and works out a fair resolution. Because your payment is still in escrow, we can hold or reverse it while the issue is being sorted out.

6. Returns & refunds — case by case

If we find the problem is genuine, we may arrange a return of the item and/or a refund. When approved:

• Refunds go back to the way you paid. Orders paid by card are refunded to that same card; Cash-on-Delivery orders are refunded to your bank account or mobile wallet (JazzCash, Easypaisa or NayaPay), or credited to your Ilmigo wallet if you prefer.
• If your order never shipped or was cancelled before dispatch, the full amount — including any COD service fee — is returned to you.
• If a return is needed, Ilmigo arranges the pickup with our courier partner and covers the return cost when the seller is at fault.
• Approved refunds are typically processed within 5–7 business days.

7. Damaged or lost in transit

If your order is damaged or lost during delivery, report it within 48 hours with photos where possible. Since your payment is in escrow, we'll investigate with the courier and make it right — through a replacement (if available) or a refund.

8. Sellers

Sellers must describe items accurately and pack them well. Repeated genuine complaints can affect a seller's standing on Ilmigo, up to loss of verification or removal from the marketplace.
